Logo Design Squad -- LogoDesignSquad.com Ripoff Scam Thief

I am posting this up really quickly so that nobody gets scammed and hopefully it shows up in a google search result if anyone is doing their research. This company is using my work, and the work of many other designers as their own in an attempt to sell designs. Thankfully, the tight-knit and vigilante design community is not going to stand around and tolerate this type of behaviour, as evidenced several times in the past.

Apparently Logo Design Squad -- an online logo design service has created a fictitious team of designers claiming the work of many other designers (myself included) as their own.

They have completely ripped off other peoples logo design work from various sources and are trying to profit by this theft as their portfolios appear to the non-informed as their own.

Wolda Logo Design Annual Award 09' - Canada | Raja Sandhu

Quite surprised considering the company of great design firms and some of the best logo designers were on the same playing field, but I am very grateful for the having the recognition and winning the WOLDA award for logo design, representing my great nation, Canada. There were many other talented winners from all over the world and many others that were deserving of the honour but for reasons unbeknownst to me, did not make it through the rungs of judging criteria. Some of my personal favourites were amongst the ones not chosen for publication.

My official website is www.RajaSandhu.com

What is WOLDA?

"Wolda is the high-profile graphic design award scheme that rewards the best logos and trademarks designed throughout the world, creating an archive that tracks the evolution of tastes, styles and trends in global design, year after year. Wolda’s standing is guaranteed by the endorsement of the most important design associations and schools. Designers, agencies, studios and students from all over the world are invited to enter."

"To promote excellence in visual communication; to provide real recognition to the people who invest their passion in this field; to act as a benchmark for the high quality of work being produced throughout the world; to offer a genuine point of contact between various countries; to create a forum for the leaders in the field of visual communication, exploring its trends, absorbing and disseminating its future trajectories. Wolda: one small step towards a more influential role for graphic design in the world!"

Having said that, it was another great surprise to receive a FedEx package the other day with the book itself along with award certificates (to show my parents that I don't 'make computers' for a living and have left my position as a 'typing specialist'...job titles given to me by them).

Anyway, I thought some of you might want to see pictures... and hopefully you can share some of yours.

Famous Brand Names and Logos -- China's Ingenuity.

We have all come across famous designer knock-off's now and then. Well, I know I have. I recently bought a pair of shades that had a D&G (Dolce and Gabbana logo) on them, howerver, the '&' was missing in the logo. No wonder they were only 5 bucks... below, I have posted a series of images from an email forward that had made the rounds. A lot of the images look like something you would find on www. Engrish.com but I haven't had time to check. Anyway, being a logo designer myself, I just found so much amusement in the subtleties that I am sharing, hoping you do too! I would love to give photo credits but simply don't know who took them.
